Brakes for Breasts Fundraiser at Graham Auto Reiar in Graham, WA and Yelm, WA

Brakes for Breasts - Annual Fundraiser in October at Graham Auto Repair

This October marks our sixth year participating in the Brakes for Breasts Fundraiser! Since 2011, independent auto repair shops across the U.S. and Canada have helped raise over $2 million, with 100% of the funds going to Dr. Tuohy’s breast cancer vaccine research at the Cleveland Clinic. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, last year we donated a total of $4,180.56 from both shops. This year it's our goal to donate $5,000!

Every October, we proudly offer free premium-quality brake pads for cars and light trucks. This year's campaign is made possible through our partnership with O’Reilly Auto Parts. Customers pay only for labor and any additional parts, and then we donate 10% of each brake service to the Brakes for Breasts Fundraiser. Your trust in us for your brake care allows us to contribute to this vital research, and we’re excited to join the fight against breast cancer again in 2025!

What is Brakes for Breasts?

  • Brakes for Breasts is a nationwide fundraiser that started in 2011 with five automotive repair shops in Cleveland, Ohio. Today they are joined with over 100 independent auto repair shops across the United States and Canada. As of October 2024 this this fundraiser campaign has raised over $1.8 million for breast cancer vaccine research at the Cleveland Clinic.
  • At the heart of this campaign is the vision to create a breast cancer vaccine. Your brake service will not only benefit your vehicle but will contribute to important research that is aimed to PREVENT breast cancer!
  • The Cleveland Clinic is currently in Phase 1a of clinical trials, with 1b announced. These trials test the vaccine on a smaller group of individuals, evaluating its safety, appropriate dosage, and potential side effects. The vaccine aims to protect women from developing breast cancer by targeting a protein found in triple-negative breast cancer, the most lethal form of the disease.
  • More funding is needed to advance to Phases 2 and 3 which are critical for further testing and development of this life-saving vaccine. If you would like to donate directly towards the fundraiser you can go to their website: www.BrakesForBreasts.com and click the "Make a Donation" button. We encourage you to check-out their website where you can learn a lot more details about their work!
  • Each year we partner with a local auto parts store to provide our customers with FREE brake pads during the month of October. Our customers only pay for the cost of labor and any additional parts needed for their service. At the end of the month, we donate 10% of all participating brake services to the fundraising campaign.
  • Our team at Graham Auto Repair joined the Brakes for Breasts fundraiser in 2020. As a result of all the brake services we've performed in past five years, we've been able to donate a total of $11,038.22 to support breast cancer vaccine research. We are excited to continue this mission in 2025!
